’Mana-na-na’ explores the site from the perspective and conditions of teenage girls. A recent study in Sweden shows that after the age of 8, girls only make up 20 % of the users of public space and that they feel less safe in it. Furthermore, a large part of public money is allocated to activities mostly used by boys, such as sport fields.
The project wishes to highlight the issue of girls’ rights to public space and contributes with creative suggestions and solutions. The name is an allusion to the Brazilian word ’mana’ meaning sister.
